“Being A King For Christ” Part 4

 

Your close associations, your inner circle of friends are crucial. Often, we start associating with people for the wrong reasons - the outside appearance instead of their integrity and character. As a result of having close relationships with ungodly people, they will start changing you. Remember, we are to be a thermostat and not a thermometer – you need to be changing them and not them changing you. God's Word says in order to be wise, you need to have close friends who are wise. Your "character and integrity" is what God uses to promote you. The world often promotes on talent but at some point, who you are on the inside will manifest itself on the outside. As followers of Christ and commanded to be His witnesses, with out godly character your job is impossible. God wants us to have influence on people, just like Daniel in the Old Testament. He was promoted to a high level government position because of and excellent spirit and his honesty. The very thing (character and integrity) that got you where you were, don't lose it to stay there. Don't become like the world - keep the standard high in your life - holiness and God will promote you.

“Being A King For Christ” Part 2

In part 2 of this series, God says that He has rasied us up to be kings and priests ! When you are raised up you see things from a different perspective. Your character and integrity helps God to raise you up. He can't raise you up until you are ready because He doesn't want you to fail. As a king, you no longer are concerned about just yourself, but, everyone in the kingdom of God or the government of God. You also have a charge or command to add to the kingdom by discipling and witnessing to those outside of the kingdom. One of the areas we all struggle with is our mouths, there is a way a king is supposed to speak - don't let your mouth stop you from being raised up and witnessing to others.

God says that He has rasied us up to be kings and priests! Both have their duties to fulfill in the Kingdom or government of God. As Kings, we are to see "things" differently, see people and situations as God sees them. The Apostle Paul said I become all things to all men, (understand their situation/background or circumstances) that I might by all means (at all costs and in any and every way) save some [by winning them to faith in Jesus Christ]. The word assumed or to act on an assumption typically leads to the phrase "I guess I should of asked" or "inquired". Usually our assumptions are based on our preferences on what works best for me at that time or what I think - the natural man. So, God says that a drunkard will not enter the kingdom of heaven several times in His Words. There are 54 passages that speak to alcohol, so, do you want to know what He means when He says drunkard or do you want to assume ? Don't assume, guess or be naive about your eternity.
